About the Trio

The Trio met in Glasgow in 2006 and embarked on their first UK tour that same year. Their electrifying performances soon found them at the Richard Strauss Festival, Celtic Connections and the Amsterdam Canal Concert, to an audience of 10.000. Recent successes include concerts with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and Tallin Chamber Orchestra, and a 3-record deal with SONY Classical.

On this occasion regular member Nigel Clark (guitar) is replaced by pianist Brian Kellock.

The artists

Tim Kliphuis (violin) combines the perfection of classical and the freedom of gypsy music. Since his debut with Belgian gypsy jazz guitarist Fapy Lafertin he has shared the stage with fiddle star Frankie Gavin, accordeon giant Richard Galliano and the late guitar legend, Les Paul.

Brian Kellock (piano) is one of Scotland's world class performers, who is recognised as a stellar piano talent across the world.

Roy Percy (bass) brings the driving rhythms of New Orleans to the Trio; his unique slap bass techniques are unrivaled in Europe. He is a member of the Classic Jazz Orchestra, Scotland’s premier gypsy jazz group Swing 2016 and worked with reedsmen Forrie Cairns, Alan Barnes and Duke Heitger.
