It’s back! On Saturday 27th August the popular Peninsula Car Show is back – with a twist. Now you can see not only classic cars from the past, but also show off your own, see other modern cars, cars of the future, and residents’ favourites!
Classic cars from the Scottish Western Thoroughbred Vehicle Club will be driving from Helensburgh arriving in Cove around midday. But the action starts earlier at Cove Burgh Hall with a new addition to the event. Now you can show-off your own car and see a range of modern cars – a ‘show and tell’ where you will see the ordinary, the quirky, the big, the small, the ugly, the beautiful, the bright, the dull, electric, petrol and diesel – in fact whatever kind of cars you might see driving around the Lomond area. But now you get to hear your own story of why you love your car – and want to ‘show and tell’! There will be something of interest for anyone who likes cars so bring the family.
The approximate timings for the day are:
10.30-11.30 Show and Tell 1 modern cars;
12.00-2.00pm The antiques and classics;
2.00-3.00pm Show and Tell 2.
If you would like to display your car you must book a space ahead. Use the email to register your interest and get more information. email@example.com;
The event is free and light refreshments, snacks, soup and sandwich lunches will be on sale throughout the day.
Graham Bell, one of the volunteers organising the event said, “Cove Burgh Hall is the ideal Firth of Clyde location for a summer festival of cars. We are looking forward to a fun family day and hope to see a great mix of cars and people joining us at the end of the month. If you would like to help by volunteering on the day, please contact me by email. More information is on the Cove Burgh Hall website.”
