Professor Sir Tom Devine Tickets are now SOLD OUT
Sun 26th November 2023 at 3.30pm
Tom Devine is probably the best known of Scotland’s published historians and certainly the most popular. He combined this career with a stellar academic one at Strathclyde, Aberdeen and Edinburgh universities. He is still Professor Emeritus at the latter institution from whence he allegedly retired 8 years ago.
His seminal works on Scotland’s history have become required reading for anyone interested in Scotland’s story, including many controversial subjects like the clearances and the involvement with the slave trade. His magisterial histories of the Scottish Nation cover many centuries with very accessible clarity. Tom Devine was the first author to sell out a session at our book festival. We look forward to a repeat performance!
