Book Festival 2017

Food and drink Sunday

SUE LAWRENCE launches the food and drink theme of Sunday's Book Festival programme. The session, starting at 10:30am, is  chaired by BBC Scotland’s Kitchen Café presenter, Simon Preston.

Sue was an early winner of Master Chef and lifted that coveted trophy in 1991.  As with so many winners, the title propelled her into a new career as a celebrated food writer who specialised in advising on the best and most imaginative use of Scottish produce.

Scottish Soup Bible by Sue Lawrence

Her latest culinary offering  The Scottish Soup Bible, does what it says on the tin, collecting classic recipes for the soup pot.

Sue combines a passion for cooking with a love of writing and has since also branched out as a novelist writing The Fields of Blue Flax which was published two years ago.  Her latest novel - The Night He Stayed – is written around the infamous Tay Bridge rail disaster.

Book here for Sue Lawrence and other speakers in Sunday's programme.
